Roadmap for the next few days

1. Get a Mac release through Dave Luebbert. I'll make a sweep of dotOpml.root disabling things that won't work on the Mac. Dave, could you prepare a folder structure for Mac users with a Mac opml app, etc, and keep it current as I do new releases of the Windows version?

2. Get a Mac user in the loop. I suggest inviting Paolo Valdemarin, he's a developer, longtime Frontier developer, good guy, easy to work with, etc.

3. Instant outlining. I feel it's important to have great communication here as we add more users, so I'm making the 2002 instant outlining code work in opml.exe. I should have something for people to use by the end of work today (knock wood, praise Murphy, etc).

4. Write docs for basic outlining. How to open a file, How to write an outline. What do the various commands do. How does stuff get onto the net? How do I make a directory? Writing web pages. Basic content management techniques.

5. Bring in some motivated intelligent users. I've been bringing in techy developer types because I want good bug reports to get to a baseline of reliability so that when the first real users show up we'll have a base of experience of what can go wrong to make up for the sketchy bug reports. The first user I want to bring in is Rebecca MacKinnon, a colleague from Harvard. I demo'd the outliner for her a week ago and should could barely contain her enthusiasm. But she's a total outliner newbie, so it should be interesting.

6. The public release will take place no later than June 22, the first day of Gnomedex. That's why I'm so focused and heads-down. If this works a lot will get done between then and now, and I'm counting on your help, and will be appreciative of it.

That's about it for now, I have to get to work on the Instant Outliner!
