NewsRiver is automatically downloaded by 0.67Working our way toward 1.0...I just added a new bit of code that automatically downloads and initializes newsRiver.root. The aggregator will be built-into the 1.0 release of the OPML Editor, which is what I'm working towards now.
What you have to do...Not very much. Choose Get Latest Code from the Community menu. Two new parts will install. If you already have newsRiver.root installed, nothing more will happen. If you don't have it, within a minute of updating it will be downloaded from hosting.opml.org and will automatically install. However, it will not, by default be enabled. Not much more to say.
What's coming next...1. When you do a Get Latest Code, in addition to updating dotOpml.root, it will also update newsRiver.root.2. There may be a NewsRiver sub-menu of the Community menu. 3. The prefs system for NewsRiver will be united with a new prefs system for the rest of the app. (In other words prefs will become browser-based.) This is all part of various corner-turns leading to 1.0. We're also going to need a spiffy colorful new website, kind of like the one for Firefox or other popular end-user open source projects. If you'd like to be part of that project, let's start discussing now. Thanks!
