Changes to prefs in Community menuThis morning, a major change in the Community menu, one that's good for us in the future, but is likely to introduce some confusion in the here-and-now, so please listen up.What is changing? As I said in an earlier post, we're switching to browser-based preferences whereever possible, and the dialog-based preferences are now removed from the Community menu. This means that the docs, where they refer to the dialog-based prefs, are incorrect. It's good to make this change now, before there are a lot more users; and the changes are worth making because it streamlines all preferences, puts them in one place, makes it easier to document, easier to use, and easier to work on. They also work the same way on on both Macintosh and Windows. All in all a worthwhile corner-turn, but one that is going to confuse some users. How to update1. Choose Get Latest Code from the Community menu.2. Choose Update opml.root from the File menu. 3. You may have to quit and restart the editor to see the changed Community menu. 4. To review the prefs, choose the Preferences command from the Community menu.
A list of commands that are-no-more1. Community/Your OPML Weblog/Header description...2. Community/Your OPML Weblog/Blog name/copyright... 3. Community/Your OPML Weblog/Days on home page... 4. Community/Instant Outliner/Preferences...
