The DocNography Tool Howto

What is DocNography?
It's technography as practiced by Doc Searls.
It's how we did visual note-taking at BloggerCon IV, last week in San Francisco.
Who is this for?
These instructions were written primarily for Doc, but they should work on any OPML Editor or Radio UserLand installation. The only thing Doc has that you don't is the password. I have also releasee the server side so you can set up your system.
How to install
1. Locate the OPML Editor folder and open Guest Databases, then Apps, then Tools.
2. Download docNography.root and copy it into the Tools folder, opened in the first step.
3. Quit the OPML app if it's running and re-launch. After a minute or less, a new menu should appear in the menu bar, the DocNographer menu. If it did, congratulations, it worked, the Tool is installed.
How to edit a session
The Tool is already set up for BloggerCon IV. If you want to set it up for another conference, there's a way to do it, but I'm not going to write docs for this now.
To edit a session, navigate to the session from the DocNographer menu. Choose the command for the session you want to open, an outline window will open, edit, save, edit save. The text will automatically upstream to the server, where it will be rendered into HTML and published as OPML. This all happens automatically when you save, so save every few edit operations so the people watching at home will see what's new.
